Kiyon Koroma Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was created in 2009 by friends to honor Kiyon Koroma. Kiyon had been an athlete for WHS and had later enjoyed coaching youth wrestling.

Guidelines

The scholarship will be $1,000 for a year, divided between semesters.

Qualifications

Applicants must be WHS student athletes (in any sport, including cheerleading).

Students must have at least a 2.5 GPA and be in “Good Standing” with school administration as defined by the KSHSAA “Rule 52” Citizenship/Sportsmanship guidelines Fellowship opportunities.

Students must also submit an essay titled “Being an athlete at WHS has made me a better person in the following way…”

At least one letter of recommendation must be from a teacher or coach.
